Fire Awareness Training
Who is this course suitable for:
Any full or part-time employee or contractors working on a site. Every member of staff needs Fire Awareness Training. You can use this program to ensure that your company complies with current legislation, keep your workplace safer, learn evacuation procedures, and take part in fire extinguisher training, strengthening your overall fire health and safety training regime.
The Fire Awareness Training is both cost effective and time efficient. The fire health and safety training can be completed in your workplace.
Provide staff with legally required training with our fire awareness course. Staff will learn the key aspects of fire prevention, responding to a fire, and using equipment safely, focusing on risks specific to your business. At the end of the course all attendees will be certified to handle fire emergencies in the workplace.
Fire Awareness Training - Duration:
Half Day (3 hours) We are flexible with starting times to meet the needs of your business.
Course aims:
To make employees more aware of how fires start, spread and are controlled. To instil a general respect for fire and make them more aware of fire risks in the workplace. It is mandatory for all staff to receive adequate fire awareness training on an annual basis. This course can be conducted at your premises or venue of your choice for up to 12 members of staff. The aim is to provide participants with an awareness and understanding of the threat posed by fire, your company’s fire procedures and the actions to be taken in the event of a fire.
Course Content:
Candidates will be continually assessed during the Course followed by a short multiple choice exam. Course content includes:
- Fire Safety Legislation
- Fire statistics
- Action in the event of a fire
- Fire Hazards
- The fire triangle
- The fire plan
- Identification and types of fire extinguishers
- Operation and types of fire alarms
- Fire Signage
- General fire precautions
- Methods of extinguishing a fire
Assessment and Certification:
Assessment for this course is ongoing by the instructor throughout the course. There will be a multiple choice question paper. A Basic fire awareness certificate will be issued to all students who are assessed as competent which is valid for 3 years.
You can be assured that you are meeting your Mental Health First Aid Training requirements by attending this course which is Ofqual regulated.
