This First Aid at Work 3 day course meets the requirements set out by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for the purpose of meeting the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
This First Aid at Work training meets the statutory needs of employers in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland needing at least one First Aider on the premises. By undertaking one of our first aid at work courses or CPR and AED sessions, you can be confident that you or your employee has undertaken a programme which meets the statutory needs of employers.
This 3 Day First Aid at Work course is run over three days and includes both theory and practical sessions. The course is accredited to a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) and valid for 3 Years.
This First Aid at Work Qualification fully accredited and regulated by Ofqual.

First Aid at Work training courses – It is a requirement of the Health & Safety law that employers should provide a safe and healthy environment for their employees. If a risk assessment highlights the need for qualified First Aider’s, then this course will provide you with suitable, highly trained personnel.
First Aid at Work Training
Who is this course suitable for:
This course is designed for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide first aid when dealing with an emergency situation.
First Aid at Work Training Duration:
3 Days (Normally 6 hours per session) Ideally, the course should be run over three consecutive days, but we have the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs if you so desire providing it is completed within 10 weeks of starting the course.
Course aims:
The First Aid at Work Course will equip delegates with the knowledge and skills to be able to carry out emergency first aid as the first responder to an incident.
Course Content:
The first aid at work training provides learners the knowledge and skills needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations. Learners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective first aid in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of the first aider. Some of the topics included in the First Aid training include:
- Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
- Assessment of the situation
- Scene and personal Safety
- Control of bleeding
- Epilepsy
- Head injuries
- Chest injuries
- Choking
- Asthma
- Fractures and spinal injuries
- Poisoning
- Sprains and strains
- Burns
- Shock (including Anaphylaxis)
- Bandaging
- Wounds and embedded objects
- Crush and chest injuries
- Resuscitation
- Heart attacks
- Eye Injuries
Assessment and Certification:
Assessment for this 3 Day First Aid at Work course is ongoing by the instructor throughout the course and there will be a short written assessment at the end of the course. On completion of the training delegates will receive an accredited Level 3 award certificate issued by the awarding body Qualsafe along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualification which is valid for a period of 3 years.

In addition, the HSE strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of three hours.
